Bees / Sky Sox Game

Before Aidan left for the summer we took him to a Salt Lake Bees vs. Colorado Springs Sky Sox game. Aidan and I went to a Bee's game in May and loved it. This was part of Jim's Birthday present too. I will admit that my real goal was to see hottie Huston Street but he wasn't pitching. Boooo. See photo to the right........ I know, I missed out.


Oh well, there was food, fun, and fireworks!

Gall Bladder #2

Wow, can you tell that I was doped up on drugs when I wrote my last post!

I am doing much better now. Still a little sore at the end of the day - nothing that ice doesn't help. The incision looks awesome and going back to work wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. The first day back was a little rough. I remembered the other day why I hadn't been wearing heeled shoes. You have to use some serious stomach muscle to wear those - and mine were still feeling like they'd been chopped to pieces!

I'm still not able to eat all of the good stuff but it's getting better. The first time I ventured out (two weeks post op) it wasn't good. The surgeon assured me that was normal and to give it a while. I'm pleased to say that today I managed to go to lunch at Red Robin and have a burger! I haven't gotten sick yet so we shall see how tomorrow goes!

That Pesky Gall Bladder

I finally, after 2 years, had my gall bladder removed yesterday. I have finally jumped through enough insurance hoops and hall of the tests done. For that $1000 I learned what I already know... it didn't work!!!

I was so excited to have it done so I could eat mozzarella sticks and have a salad.... that was until after I had it done and it hurts like HELL! I can barely walk and sleeping is a joke. My other surgeries didn't feel like this at all. The crazy thing is that it doesn't hurt when my gall bladder was clamped off but instead where they went through my belly button! It is so swollen and bruised. I expcted a little discomfort but WOW!

Hopefully the weekend would be better.... I'm going back to work tomorrow!

It's been a while....

My how things quickly change! We are now living in Utah! The move went as well as a move can go and we are currently in a townhouse (it's an apartment) with 75% of our stuff still in storage. Work is going well and Aidan has gotten into the groove of things at his new school and after school care. The after school time is what got him the most. Luckily school gets out at 3:20 and I'm there to get him by 5:30.... only a couple of hours and rather than hanging out with mom he has other kids. It may turn out to be good for him since they read, do homework, etc.... when I just worked still.

I have my gall bladder out (finally) next Thursday. Is it odd that I'm looking forward to surgery?! I really just want to be able to eat a mozzarella stick again!

I promise to be better about updating the blog. Once we have sold our house in Colorado I will be able to unpack all of my craft stuff and get into it! My goal is to scrapbook again and get a blog/site going for all of our family. I did really well in early 2009 but oh how things quickly change!
